Dear Northside family,
And just like that, Thanksgiving has come and gone. And you all know what that means don’t you? Christmas is right around the corner! I have always said Christmas is a great time to invite people to come and worship with you at church. Along with Easter, Christmas is a wonderful time to share with others the Good News of Christ’s birth, life, death, and resurrection. I want to encourage you to invite someone to come worship with you this Christmas season.
I was thinking about Christmas when I was a little boy. Daddy always put the tree up and decorated it. The last thing that he put on the tree was the star. Many have gotten away from the star on top of the tree today including us. But the star in the Christmas story was such a great miracle! The star pointed people to Jesus. God placed that star over the stable pointing to the greatest person ever born, ever!
The wise men came from a far following the star until they arrived in Bethlehem. The star is the greatest announcement ever given. “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. (Luke 2: 11). Jesus was born and He was and is the light of the world. As His children we too need to live our life in such a way that it points others to Jesus.
What a joy and an honor it is serving at Northside as your pastor, I love you all so much, and wish you all a Merry, Merry Christmas.
